Art Workshops will begin Wednesday February 3, 2021 @ 2pm in the Hobby Centre if there is sufficient interest . Max 8 people. Residents only.

Each Wednesday afternoon, Bruce Hosken will do 4 weeks then alternate each 4 weeks with Kevin Hepplewhite during school terms.

All art will be acrylic, pen/wash, watercolour or drawing. Unfortunately no oils.
You will be at a table and seated.
Desk easel provided (Thanks to Norm Roberts for help in this regard).
Paints and art pads can be purchased at Spotlight or Jewells centre discount store.

The first 4 weeks will begin trying to get a feel for art doing a landscape (similar to the picture below) with acrylics.

What to bring:

  • Cleaning rags
  • Sketch pencil (4b) - rubber - sharpener.
  • Acrylic paints in tubes -White, Red (Vermillion or bright and a Crimson), Blues (Sky, cerulean, Indigo), Yellow, Ochre
  • Brushes
  • Brush Wash container (Old honey jar or can)
  • Painting book pad A3 size (contain 10-12 sheets) or equivalent canvas
  • Palette. I recommend a disposable type palette either plastic party  plates or baking paper clipped to a piece of board.
  • Clean space protector like an old towel, dropsheet, or plastic wrapping. (Towel size)
  • Paper folder clips to clip art paper to a board and baking paper to palette .
  • Masking tape to stick paper to board and get a clean edge.
  • For those wanting to use canvas please prime before the class.
